Choosing a CMS

Sep - 8 - 2007
Nicole C. Engard

Last week, I gave an introductory presentation to content management systems. Today I’m sitting with RayAna trying to decide whether to use Drupal or Joomla for the Greater Philadelphia Law Library Association website. We installed them both and keep going back and forth. For those who attended the talk – or are just curious, I just found an interesting comparison between the two. Right now we’re using Joomla – but who knows if I get annoyed enough I might switch back to Drupal.

Umm – that “interesting comparison” dates back to two years ago.

Yeah? Well, it still seems to fit based on my 10 hour day of switching back and forth between the two.

    Hey,

I was too faced with the dilemma of choosing between Joomla and Drupal as means of a CMS (staff intranet). At first I decided to use Joomla because of it’s robust features. However, I had to think of terms of who will be using it and from the end-user prospective Drupal seems to be the right choice from now. Our staff consists of people with different technical backgrounds, so in terms of usability I settled on Drupal. I am still fan of Joomla.
