SLA Going Green for Annual

Jun - 13 - 2008
Nicole C. Engard

So, I thought it sounded like a great idea – no bottled water, no handouts and several other changes to have the SLA Annual conference put a smaller nature killing footprint on Seattle and the world. I was wrong!! SLA did not think this through. I have not been able to get through to the conference schedule in days!! Why? I assume it’s because everyone is uploading and downloading handouts before the conference begins! If a conference plans on eliminating all handouts and having the attendees depend on the website – then the website better be able to handle the strain of all of us librarians visiting the site before and during the conference.

In my case – I haven’t even visited the page with handouts yet – I just want to see the darn schedule so I know when to be there for my board meeting!!

Rant over …. for tonight.
