  1. Thanks for posting the link to that article. I’m facing the same situation with my parents. I found enough hints to make the Metro tile interface go away on boot and bring back a Start menu, but I might just bite the bullet and downgrade them. (A new computer with Windows 8 came just on the heals of upgrading them to Office 2010 and having to explain where the “Save” command is and what the ribbon is all about. Too much change from the familiar and the perfectly useful.)
