We circled the part about eliminating the 'chief' librarian and handed it to our director. She had a good laugh. Since libraries are increasingly becoming access points for the internet, it would not be a bad thing to have tech-support right there as well for when the computers go kaphewy. I can see it working as long as the first proposition isn't to eliminate the librarians!

Wow, what a big step!

Today I found out my library offers downloads of audio books. So now I'm faced with the decision of whether to listen to the new book I really want to read, or try and find its paper form. It's amazing how libraries are changing with technology. Which I knew, but it always means more when you find an example. It seems like another step into the future when all books will be downloaded.

Sad in a way. I think I'll miss paper books.
