Looking for a Tag expert

February 21st, 2006

I have tried to get Technorati to find my posts, but I keep failing. The help file reads:

If your blog software supports categories and RSS/Atom feeds (like Movable Type, WordPress, TypePad, Blogware, Radio), just use the included category system and make sure you are publishing RSS/Atom feeds and your categories will be read as tags.

I use WordPress and I use the category system, but if you search for CIL2006 you don’t find my CIL posts – so I added tags to the posts and you still don’t find them. What am I doing wrong? I’d like to get this sorted out before the conference.

I took me a while to figure this out too. I use the SimpleTags plugin. http://www.broobles.com/scripts/simpletags/. Once you get that up, you can just put tags in between and they’ll show up in technorati.
