Travel Alot?
The one thing I hate about traveling is that I have to unpack my carry on because it has a laptop and GPS in it. That makes this announcement from the TSA a good one for me – but not a good one for my favorite eBags laptop bag.
Starting Aug. 16, TSA will allow laptops to remain in bags meeting new ‘checkpoint friendly’ guidelines. Not all laptop bags are ‘checkpoint friendly’
To help streamline the security process and better protect laptops TSA has recently encouraged manufacturers to design bags that will produce a clear and unobstructed image of the laptop when undergoing X-ray screening. A design that meets this objective will enable TSA to allow laptops to remain in bags for screening.

I am in love with my bag, but it doesn’t look like sell it anymore – and it’s not TSA friendly anyway.
Okay – so mine isn’t there anymore, but I have the slim version of this one that’s one sale.
Taking my laptop out I dont mind, that only takes a second. Its being photographed and fingerprinted as my welcome to the US that I hate.

“Once at the port of entry you will find that many of the procedures remain unchanged and are familiar to you. For example, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer still reviews your travel documents, such as a visa and passport. The officer still asks you questions about your stay in the U.S.
What’s new under US-VISIT is that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer now uses the inkless, digital fingerscanner to capture two of your fingerscans. You first place your left index finger and then your right index finger on the scanner. The officer also takes your digital photograph. These procedures add only seconds to the overall processing time.
Beginning November 29, 2007, Homeland Security will replace the two-fingerprint scanners with new 10-fingerprint scanners, starting with Washington Dulles International Airport”
Now its up to all fingers, sure makes you feel welcome.
