What headset do you use?

September 20th, 2006

After my post about the Library Geeks podcast I thought about it and I really should buy a headset – so I want recommendations. What ones are you using and which do you like? I’ve heard some podcast interviews where I have to fast forward through a specific speaker because they’re so darn quiet – I don’t want to be that person :)

I got one recommendation from someone at work today for the Sennheiser PC150 Noise Cancelling PC Headset – but I want to hear from more people.

Please post the replies that you receive. I am in the same boat you are in. After listening to podcasts and seeing some done for libraries, I want to make some for my library and of course for that I need a set of headphones with a mike.

Hi Nicole, based on one of the recommendations in this post, I picked up a Logitech USB 350 and have been really pleased with it.

Any digital headset from Plantronics (http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat640035/cat1430032) will work fine. The biggest key that I’ve found is to be sure you get a headset that uses a USB connection, *not* the standard analog audio plugs. Those tend to introduce noise into the signal.

That’s good to know – thanks!
