Spam Hassles

Some of you have emailed me to share your problems with my spam protection - and in the past I have posted about my problems as well. I just want you all to know that if you leave a comment and get an error, your comment has been sent to me for approval. I’m going to play around with some options and see if I can perfect things here since it’s spring break and I finally have some time to poke.

I’ll keep you all posted - and thanks for your patience.

Do you use Akismet? It seems to be pretty good in terms of fighting spam, at least on my blog; I get a good amount of spam comments, but not too many legit comments, and Akismet is pretty good at catching the bad stuff. Also, are you running the latest version of WP? If you're not using 2.1.2, then you need to upgrade. The latest version has more security features that help block spammers.

I am using Akismet & SpamKarma 2. I had to wait to finish my finals before upgrading to 2.1.2 - will get to it ASAP :)
