More than just bookmarks

You may already have figured this stuff out – but it’s pretty new to me! Del.icio.us is not just for storing your bookmarks – it has all kinds of neat features that I was playing with last week.

First, if you have a ton of tags – like I do – you can bundle them into categories to make it easier for you to find them down the road.

Next, you can find people with like links and interests and add them to your network. Once you have people in your network, you can share links with them, see their links and find out who’s in their network (leading you to more contacts).

Last, you can subscribe to tags of your choosing and see those links all on one page. I’ve subscribed to the cil2007 tag in anticipation of the upcoming conference.

Anyway, there’s a bunch of neat things to play with on del.icio.us – now go waste the hours away – like I did ;)

I’ve been trying out the new del.icio.us Firefox extension. Looks to be a good way to sync across computers.
