Stephen Abram has a great post about The Library 2.0 ‘Bandwagon’ on his blog. If you’re on the wall about Library 2.0 then this is the post to read. Stephen makes some great points that (I hope) will shut the mouths of the people debunking Library 2.0 and make them go “hmmmm”. make [...]

My RSS Feed is doing something funny. A bunch of posts that I didn’t touch today have shown up as updated. I am still playing with settings and plugins for this new release - so I’m just going to assume it’s a problem with that and apologize to you all for the many new [...]

I mentioned this weekend that I wasn’t a fan of the new WordPress for 2 main reasons. Well I’ve solved #1 and I can deal with #2
#1 was that I don’t like TinyMCE - thanks to the WP Support forums I have learned how to turn off the WYSIWYG editor and use [...]

The Torn Librarian has a great post about the “schism” that is deepening between those in the professional library world who are tech savvy and those who aren’t.
What is this you ask? Well, the savvy are the people that are comfortable and/or enthusiastic about technology and its implementation in the library (Wikis, Blogs, RSS feeds, [...]

I just stumbled upon Free Classic AudioBooks. It offers a few classics in windows media format and in m4b audio book format for iTunes and the iPod. It says that the titles will be updated frequently. The thing that caught my attention was that these titles are mostly popular classics - not titles [...]

Everyone gave this new release rave reviews, but I have a few problems.
#1 - I am not a fan of TinyMCE. I demoed it when we were choosing an editor for our Intranet - and we decided against it. I hate the fact that when I click on HTML or the insert link [...]

Wierd name, cool idea! Wufoo is a simple form maker. It’s not in beta yet, but you can play with the demo, I’m certainly going to show this to my beginning web design students.

From Bloglines News:
If you are like most Bloglines users, you’ve found that it’s too easy to subscribe to a ton of feeds but way too hard to keep them organized. While modern medicine has yet to invent a pill to cure Bloglines addiction, the feed management improvements we released yesterday will at least help you, [...]

Thanks ::schwagbag:: for pointing me to the Flickr pictures of Google Page Creator - which by the time I had read about it was in such high demand that Google isn’t letting anyone else create accounts - for now
Well I guess I’ll have to let you know what I think when they open [...]

I just attended A SirsiDynix Institute Conversation: The 2.0 Meme - Web 2.0, Library 2.0, Librarian 2.0, and aside from the fact that our library doesn’t cater to teens and a lot of conversation focused on them, it was a great presentation.
The thing that stuck with me the most was the Librarian 2.0 [...]

I have tried to get Technorati to find my posts, but I keep failing. The help file reads:
If your blog software supports categories and RSS/Atom feeds (like Movable Type, WordPress, TypePad, Blogware, Radio), just use the included category system and make sure you are publishing RSS/Atom feeds and your categories will be read as [...]

It’s funny that right as I’m complaining to my staff here that I HATE our ILS (oh boy did you miss a great temper tantrum on my part) , other librarians are doing the same. John Blyberg discusses The Rime of the Ancient ILS, Sarah Houghton talks about how Library Systems Vendors Stray from [...]

I got my password for the Edgeio demo the other day and I logged in and couldn’t think of any way to use this service. What is Edgeio?
edgeio dynamically organizes listings published from RSS enabled websites making them discoverable via the edgeio website and through an open set of web services. Our goal is [...]
